In-Character Information
Name: Martin Crieff.
Series: Cabin Pressure
Canon-Point: After St. Petersburg!
History: Here, have a link.
Personality: Martin is the kind of person who would beg to be the leader and then have no idea what to do AS the leader.
He tends to pass off as rather nervous most of the time, incredibly uncomfortable and, mainly, hoping that he'll be taken seriously. He has the position but not the experience, and because of that he tries to make up for it with professionalism, which is hard to do when he's the shortest one on the plane, and when the crew is anything at all like MJN's.
But apart from his bad luck and tendency to be laughed at, he's actually quite a strong person - he set himself a goal of becoming a pilot, and he didn't stop until he reached that goal, even if he isn't being paid for it, he's still living his dream. And even though MJN drives him insane most of the time (and he drives them up the wall the rest of the time with his rules and general attitude) they're still a strange sort of family, and they all stick up for each other when push comes to shove.
Powers: None. Totally, completely human and powerless. Well, he can fly an aeroplane, and budget on a very low income, but that's about it.
Starter Pokemon: Archen

First-Person Sample: [The video comes on, and it shows a-
Well. It shows the Mistralton Runway. The camera pans around, showing the poor viewers every last inch of the place, and stays glued to the planes themselves for far longer than is probably necessary.]
Cheeeeen....
Yes, I mean- wow! Just, look at that! I didn't think there'd be an airline here, but. They're very nicely built, too...
[And if you've got REALLY good hearing, there might be mutters of wondering if he could get a job there.]
Third-Person Sample:
Martin stared at the bird, and the bird stared back. Not knowing what else to do, he sat back on the grass with his head in his hands. he didn't know where he was, or why it was suddenly proper summer weather instead of the usual English equivalent, or why he was suddenly here - wherever 'here' was - instead of back in the portacabin.
But all that aside, there was a brightly coloured bird staring at him who had appeared out of thin air several minutes ago when he was getting his bearings and a round ball-type thing got larger in his hand. Martin had never, it had to be said, been all that interested in any kind of game that did not include air craft in some capacity, meaning that while he had a niggling feeling as though this should be familiar - it wasn't. And he hadn't the faintest idea on what to do next. Regardless of the fact that he'd been told the basics, that didn't really tell him anything. None of it really, when you got down to it, actually made sense.
He scratched the back of his head, and had another look at the weird phone-watch-God knows what on his wrist. Maybe it couldn't hurt to send out a message on this thing, since all he was getting from the locals were the same things, over and over again.
To be honest, that bit about the locals actually creeped him out. It was almost as if they weren't actually alive or something.
So, now determined as to his course of action, he started to press buttons in the hope that he would get somewhere and not just inadvertently break the thing while it was brand new.
